The 2021 vintage was characterized by the excellent health of the vineyard and the intense heat. A warmer than normal winter and spring brought forward the vegetative state of the vines by 15 days, a situation which continued throughout the summer, bringing forward the harvest date to the end of August. The vegetative cycle took place without incident, with good flowering and without any notable infestation. In summer, the drought worsened and in August, symptoms of dehydration began to be visible in the clusters, but the rains at the beginning of September restored balance in the vineyard. The wines of this vintage are characterized by a greater volume due to the heat and by good freshness. A vintage to be enjoyed young or kept for a few years, as has become the case with the great wines of the region.
