Brunier Piedlong family Châteauneuf-du-Pape
An unmissable area for a wine of remarkable quality!
This vintage produced by the Brunier family is a reference in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation, rewarded year after year by the greatest wine critics!
A perfect balance between robustness and femininity, velvet and liveliness, richness and freshness, developed from a assembly unique of grenache 70 years old and Mourvèdre 50 years old!
The Piedlong vintage is one of the best in terms of quality/price ratio.
It reveals aromas of wild strawberries, herbs of Provence as well as a subtle hint of pepper.
On the palate, Piedlong Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a full, full-bodied red wine with superb balance. Its tannins are present and very velvety at the same time. Its finish is exquisite and of very good length obtained thanks to aging in French oak barrels for 20 to 22 months.
The Brunier family has been operating this estate for 5 generations now. The Vieux-Télégraphe estate consists of 70 hectares and located on the famous Crau plateau, which mainly produces red wines.
The Grenache and Mourvèdre vines are harvested on the stony plateau of Piedlong. For this vintage, the Brunier family sublimates the meeting of a plant and a soil in order to reveal all the richness of which these elements are capable.

“Coming from the plateau in the center of the appellation and composed of 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre, the Châteauneuf du Pape Piedlong 2019 displays a more ruby-translucent color to accompany feminine and fragrant notes of wild strawberries, soil loamy, Provence herbs and peppery scrubland. Medium to full-bodied, it has terrific overall balance, grainy and present tannins, and an excellent finish. This is another superb 2019 in the making that will benefit from 2 to 3 years in the bottle and will keep for 10 to 15 years. »

"Wonderful finesse and airy fruitiness, everything presents in addition to this incredibly digestible character which places it a little apart in our tasting. It's superb. A bottle which is not enough. You have to buy magnums. "
95/100 French Wine Review:
"The red Châteauneuf-du-Pape are accomplished. Graceful and tasty, Piedlong takes advantage of its terroir, the juice is finely fruity with a peony and potpourri aspect."

TASTING
Tasting advice: Remember to aerate it 2 hours before tasting it.
When young, you can keep it for between 2 and 3 years and drink it with red meat at around 15°C. But Piedlong Chateauneuf-du-Pape still has very great aging potential because it can be kept for between 10 and 15 years.
PAIRINGS & DISHES
This vintage goes wonderfully with a piece of red meat such as beef or lamb.
